Cunyi YANG 杨存奕

Hello, I am Cunyi!

I am a URC Postdoctoral Fellow at HKU Business School, The University of Hong Kong, and hold a Ph.D. in Finance from Sun Yat-sen University. My work has appeared in Financial Review, Journal of Business Research, and Technological Forecasting and Social Change, among others. I serve as an Assistant Editor of International Review of Finance.

I have received the Job Market Star recognition at the 25th China Economics Annual Conference, the China Excellent Young Scholar Paper Award in Finance, and the Top-Ranked Paper distinction in the 13th Guangdong Provincial Award for Excellence in Financial Research.

"Diplomatic Sentiment Index" is a high-frequency geopolitical sentiment dataset built from official diplomatic texts from 15 countries between 2001 and 2026 using a multi-stage LLM pipeline. It supports cross-country and event-based analysis and helps predict geopolitical risk and international capital flows.

"Digital Economics" is a WeChat public account that Cunyi has operated independently since 2023. It shares current topics, academic literature, calls for papers, and policy updates related to digital economics, digital finance, and risk management. To date, it has attracted over 7,000 followers, published more than 90 original articles, and accumulated over 200,000 total reads.
